The ShortCut River Quiver comes with a set of Rod Chairs to keep your rigged rod secure and organized while broken down in half in the unit. The Rod Chairs are simple to take on and off your rod, leaving you ready to fish in no time.

You do need a roof rack with 2 crossbars to attach the River Quiver to your vehicle. If you own a pickup truck, cross bars are not required. Check our Truck Bed ShortCut solution here.

The short answer is yes, but it all depends on the cross-bar system you have on your vehicle. We have three different mounting options that will accommodate all different roof rack styles and your specific needs. To read more about these mounting options, please click here.

You can most definitely keep the River Quiver on year-round. We designed it to ensure you can have your rod rigged at the ready no matter the time of year you are fishing.

The River Quiver can accommodate spey/switch rods with a minor tweak to how the reel sits on the rod. Simply connect the reel on the back butt section with either a reel cover or rubber band. When you arrive at your fishing destination all you need to from here is to re-attach reel into the reel seat and you are off fishing.

Security

High-security tongue and groove joint makes it almost impossible to break or enter the reel box. Made with AES polymer, this design resists all attempts at destruction.

Side-swing door with a unique “hold-open hinge” makes a huge difference to the functionality and enjoyment of owning the best fly fishing equipment you can buy.

Best rod holder

From soup to nuts, Riversmith has the best fly rod holder on the market. Rather than ordering it online, I called the company directly, and they Guided me through the process of buying the rod holder. They could’ve easily sold me a more expensive version, but the sales person assessed my needs and tailored my purchase to what’s in my best interest rather than theirs.
I couldn’t be happier with the product and its quality. I can’t say enough about Riversmith.

A really nice add to my overland 4WD pickup

When one decides to place a rooftop tent on a 1010 rack in a pickup like my 4WD RAM Diesel, complete with 5'3" bed, options for a rod case are limited. A full-length just doesn't. The Shortie had potential. But it is just a little too short, or a little too long to mount in the usual North-South orientation. At least for my bed rack system.

I was stymied, and stumbled across the idea of mounting it cross-ways (if you will).

It is a tad short for a direct buckle up to my rack, but a couple of subtle modifications to the end cap, and it fits like a gem. My contact at Riversmith was super responsive and super-helpful.

My guess is that if you have a bed rack system that is Abby-normal, Riversmith will help navigate you to getting this kit working for you.

I am very pleased with the quality of the components and overall design.

Perfect match for Rivian!

What a great option, especially when you don't have the space (or want) a full-length version. It fits really nicely on the factory bars above the bed. The quality and attention to detail is so obvious - the best on the market IMO!
