Somewhere in Texas - A Swiftcast Photo Essay

I recently had the opportunity to show some friends what central Texas Hill country fly fishing is all about, while testing out the new Swiftcast Rod Holder from Riversmith. Fortunately, The scenic beauty and amazing fishing did not disappoint, and neither did the SwiftCast Rod Holder.
While the bass fishing was epic, the river was actually extremely low due to recent drought conditions, and the swift cast made it easy to hop in and out of the boat while portaging without having to worry about stepping on unsecured rods.
This is especially useful in our rocky hill country rivers where the riverbed can be uneven and challenging to navigate. It was also nice to have a place to store rigged rods at the ready for quick fly changes without having to re-rig. Not to mention, it was super easy to install and adjust.
All in all a great addition to any raft frame, providing convenience, durability, and peace of mind while while doing what we love best. Spending time on the water.
The Swiftcast Rod Holder is available for ordering and shipment today.

About the Author:

Born and raised in south Texas, Johnny Guerra grew up learning to fish for redfish, black drum and speckled trout on the coast around Corpus Christi and Port Aransas. Those early days planted the seeds that grew into a lifelong passion for angling and the outdoors, as Johnny now devotes most of his time to teaching others the merits of spending time in nature.

He now splits his time between a job at a local resort as a fly fishing instructor & guide, and guiding for All Water Guides. Johnny is devoted to sharing his passion with the hope that some might find a deeper level of connection and understanding of the natural world. He believes this is the key to fostering stewardship and creating fierce protectors of the habitats and species we hold so dear.

Johnny has spent the better part of the last decade honing his craft and getting to know central Texas waters intimately. Working with all skill levels, he enjoys getting beginners up and running just as much as working out the kinks in an expert cast. For Johnny, it all about making memories on the water, learning and maybe catching a few fish along the way.
