I love how I can keep my boots and waders and net and everything I'd take with me to the river in one organized pouch. Awesome product!

Space Limited

With one trip under my belt using the gear roll, I wanted to share my thoughts to help others in making their purchasing decision.

The good:
-The gear roll appears to be well made using quality materials. It will be interesting to see how the zippers hold up.
-The creative thought that went into the bag is outstanding. Kudos to the designers.
-Rod and net holders work very well.
-Laying the bag on the tailgate of my truck works very well. All my gear is neatly laid out in front of me.
-The boot compartment is very roomy. I was able to place size 13 wading boots along with a Fishpond South Fork wader belt with a water bottle holder and Simms wadding staff and its sheath in the lower compartment. It took some creative placement, but it all fit without stressing the zipper.
-The rolled size and shoulder straps make it easy to move the bag from my indoor fishing closet to the truck.

The not so good:
-I watched every online review I could find. You’ll notice that when they are showing the bag in a hanging position, they never show the user unrolling it. As best as I can determine, you need to lay it down to both unroll before hanging it, or re-roll after hanging. Either way the bag is going to the ground (or truck tail gate) before and after hanging.
- You’ll also notice that the reviews use the term “days’ worth” of fishing gear - because that is its general limit.
- The middle pocket nicely holds my waders. I initially put my Fishpond Cross Current chest pack next to my waders. The pack fits, but it is snug and not easy to get in and out. Top compartment holds a couple of reels and fly boxes.
- I also carry wading clothes for the day and a raincoat. I can squeeze in my lightweight raincoat, but a heavier coat didn’t look like it would fit. I also carry wader repair materials, extra laces, sunscreen, and bug spray, etc. Really no room in the bag for them.
- You’ll notice that none of the reviews really show a waist or chest pack being carried in the bag – the bag doesn’t seem designed for this essential piece of gear. This is my biggest complaint with the bag. I think I have solved this problem by choosing not to carry my boots and wading belt in the bag. I bring my gear into the house after each outing to organize and pack for the next. I don’t want dirt from my boots scattered in the house. (Will continue to use my Taco bag.) As for now, I’m putting the chest pack in the lower (boot) compartment. That has solved my space issue.

Awesome Pack!

This bag is excellent; it holds my boots, waders, net, vest, fly boxes, and extra stuff. My only critique is that the rod tube holders don't seem to cinch down tight enough to keep my aluminum tube from sliding. It's probably perfectly fine for a cordura rod tube. It can also be a user error. I had the Orvis wader bag and the Fishpond Burrito bag. This bag a little bit more expensive than both of the others, but much better.

LOVE IT!

This is the solution I was looking for to keep my equipment together and secure. No more carrying multiple bags, and often leaving something behind. This is so well made, and surprisingly easy to carry, considering how much gear is in it. Ladies, this works for US!
