Jake Villwock, owner and head guide of Relentless Fly Fishing, has been a dedicated professional in the angling industry for over 17 years. Growing up in a commercial fishing family on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, fishing has been part of his life since day one—so it’s no surprise that he’s built a thriving career around his lifelong passion.

After earning a degree in Entrepreneurship from High Point University, Jake moved to Sitka, Alaska, where he began his guiding career as a fly fishing guide and mate for a single-party lodge. There, he developed an enduring love for fly fishing and spent his winters leading dog-sledding tours in Fairbanks, AK, and Deep Creek, MD.

In 2009, Jake returned to the East Coast to join TCO Fly Shop, working at their Reading and Bryn Mawr, PA locations. Over eight years, he managed the Reading shop before helping launch and manage the Boiling Springs, PA location in 2016. After nearly a decade with TCO, Jake founded Relentless Fly Fishing, which now serves as TCO’s contract guide service. Leading a team of over 30 expert guides across Pennsylvania, Jake and his crew offer premier guiding for trout, smallmouth, musky, steelhead, and false albacore.

Jake personally guides in Pennsylvania and New York for trout, smallmouth, steelhead, and musky. In recent years, his work has expanded to include hosting both domestic and international trips—targeting species from redfish to peacock bass. With an extensive network of guides across the U.S., including Ohio, Montana, Michigan, Arkansas, Louisiana, Florida, New York, and Alaska, Jake connects anglers with exceptional fishing adventures nationwide.

Beyond guiding, Jake is the author of Smallmouth Bass Flies: Top to Bottom and Favorite Flies for Smallmouth. He is a Montana Fly Company Signature Tier, a contributor to Fly Fisherman Magazine and Eastern Fly Fishing Magazine, and a frequent podcast guest. His expertise recently earned him a feature on the cover of Fly Fisherman Magazine.
