Swapping mounts on a ShortCut River Quiver
Swapping mounts on a
ShortCut River Quiver
Steps
Lift the nose cone to expose the plastic rivets on each side. They may pop upward on their own, or you may need to pry gently with a flathead screwdriver. Once raised, use wire cutters or scissors to snip the head off each rivet and pull it free. Repeat on both sides.
With both rivets out, flip and slide the nose cone off the quiver. There's a small foam piece inside that helps it seat — leave it in place and set the nose cone aside.
With the nose cone removed, slide your mounts out of the bottom track. If needed, make a small cut in the tape to free them up.
Slide your mounts onto the top track (or your target track). Position doesn't need to be exact at this stage — you'll dial in final placement after the nose cone is back on.
Line the nose cone back up and press the replacement rivets in with firm downward pressure. If they resist, a light tap with a rubber mallet will seat them. If an old rivet head is still plugged in a hole, use a pen or punch to clear it before inserting the replacement.
Slide the mounts to your preferred position on the track and tighten down. Snug and secure is all you need — do not overtighten.
Swapping to a different mount type
If you're also changing mount types, here's how each one attaches to the T-stud on the track.
- Remove the 10mm nut from the existing mount with your nut driver.
- Slide the standard mount off the T-stud.
- Place the low profile mount onto the T-stud.
- Thread the 10mm nut back on top and tighten until snug.
- Remove the 10mm nut from the existing mount and slide it off the T-stud.
- The quick release mount has a pre-threaded interior — no nut needed.
- Line the mount up with the T-stud and twist it into place.
- Tighten until snug. Do not overtighten.
