2023 Carp Slam Results!

2023 Carp Slam Results!

We’re  proud to offer support to one of the most unique fishing events in the world: Denver Trout Unlimited’s annual Carp Slam. At the end of each summer, the Denver chapter of Trout Unlimited hosts the fly-only event that benefits local waters and the local community.

This year, 15 teams plied about 45 miles of the South Platte River and the river gave up nine carp for a total of over 244 inches. In addition to the namesake, several other species hit the net including, smallmouth bass, walleye and rainbow trout.

Now in its 17 year, Carp Slam was held this past Saturday, 9/16/23. It’s a Pro/Am style event that pairs up teams of anglers. Professional anglers and experts with the proven prowess to guide and lead are randomly-matched with non-pros affectionately known as the “slamateurs.”

Also new this year, both members of the winning team were awarded a standard River Quiver 2-Banger. The opportunity to support the rivers we love brings more meaning to the work we do every day. Riversmith would once again like to thank and recognize all of the competitors, pros, volunteers, Denver Trout Unlimited and all of the other sponsors including:
