As an avid fly fisherman and saltwater angler, as well as an appreciator of 'life on the road,' Ryan Burch has been dreaming up a bucket list trip to fish all of the lower 48 states for several years. Tales of the 48 is a documentary aimed at sharing this epic once-in-a-lifetime journey with the world.
Over the course of the next two years, Ryan and his dog Wes will travel to all 48 contiguous US states with the goal of catching a fish in each state.
Their 15,000-mile adventure will be compiled into a film that captures the fish caught, the land traveled, and the cast of characters encountered.
A River Quiver 4-Banger Will Be Along For the Ride
They’ll start the journey by fishing across the North East through August. Keep an eye out for their rig if you’re on the water around Lake Champlain, Southern Maine, The Adirondacks, or Brooklyn, NY!
If you’d like to support the project by showing them around your home waters, they would love to hear from you (@talesofthe48)!
Stay tuned for more dispatches from Ryan and his crew...
Not sure when you get to Colorado…. but you’ll have to come to Grand Jct. and we’ll float the Colorado River or hike the Gunnison river!
Good luck Ryan ! I also took an adventure a few years back I regret filming. I met some amazing people, and caught some extraordinary nice fish! Make sure you get to pyramid lake in Nevada. Camp in the “willows” Godspeed brother
I’m a guide in Western North Carolina near the Smoky Mountain National Park. If you make it to this area we can get together and fish. The water is a bit warm right now in a lot of places, but there’s always cold water to be found. We’re a year round fishery.i even have a vacant creekside property you can camp on.
