National Public Lands Day River Clean Up Recap!

Here's a quick recap for our friends at Protect Our Rivers about the recent cleanup effort on the upper Colorado River.  

"This year's event was awesome and we're so thankful to all of the volunteers and event sponsors," said Sarah Nelson from Protect Our Rivers. "It is one of my favorite days of the entire year, a day of celebrating and gathering of theriver community surrounding the idea that everyone has the power to make a personal impact and protect our rivers."

Here's are a few other accomplishments and details shared:

  • 175 +people attended the event and participated in the cleanup 
  • Protect Our Rivers counted 47 river crafts on the water 
  • Volunteers removed over 1,500 pounds of trash along eight miles of the Upper Colorado River 
  • There were 28 people on the river who'd never been out on a river trip!
