This is a Scratch and Dent unit. The top compartment was compressed in transit and is currently misshapen. The bag is fully functional, and the compression is cosmetic only.
The foam layer inside that compartment has memory. Filling the compartment with gear and using the bag normally, or storing it packed, will help it return to its original shape over time. A warm day in direct sun speeds that along as well.
