The perfect fit

The Hauler is the perfect fit for my trunk and it carries everything I need. Even full to the top, it slides into its spot nice and neat. Easy access through the zippered front makes grabbing gear simple and effortless. For me it’s perfect hands down.

Not happy.

I used the bag for the first time on a smith river trip. The bag contained my stove, and non perishable food. It was rolled properly. Rained hard all day. The bag is exposed all day to rain, in the back of the boat not being handled. Get to camp, the food is soaked, the stove is as well. There is at least an inch of water in the bottom. Stove does not work that night. Just be aware the water accumulation on top will pool, and eventually soak through. First time using the bag, encourage people to purchase something different. I would love to send the bag back for a refund. Here is the bottom of the wet bag after empty with water. I guess you need a dry bag for your stove within this dry bag.

Hi Joe,

Thank you for your review, and we’re very sorry to hear about the trouble on your Smith River trip. That’s the kind of experience dry gear is supposed to prevent, and we know how frustrating it is when something lets you down in the field.

If anything ever seems off, please don’t hesitate to reach out first—we’re always here to help. We are a small company, all of us fish and fish hard, standing behind our products 100% and providing top notch customer service is at the core of what we do. We’ve already sent a full refund and a return label so we can inspect the bag and determine if there’s a structural defect. In the meantime, we’re happy to send you a replacement free of charge.

We haven’t seen this issue before with the Hauler in lots of testing, and personal use, so it’s either a rare manufacturing defect or, a matter of the bag not being fully sealed. Roll-top dry bags, by design, rely entirely on the user creating a proper seal to remain watertight—even in heavy, sustained rain.

For best results, we recommend sealing the bag using the following steps:

Squeeze out excess air before you roll the top down. This helps reduce internal pressure and keeps the seal tight.
Begin rolling tightly, folding the top over onto the seal strip. Keep the roll taut—if there’s slack, water can find its way in.
Fold the roll top at least two more full turns (three total is best), all in the same direction. More is always better as long as it’s tight.
Once rolled, bring the ends together and click the side-release buckles. This final step locks in the seal and helps the bag maintain its structure.
If water is allowed to pool on top and the seal isn’t rolled firmly or evenly, it can eventually seep in through the rolled edge.

Thanks for working through this with us. We really appreciate the opportunity to make this right and better for future users.

Kind Regards,
