Recently, we had the chance to use all our new fishing bags and put them to the test on a trip to Maine in search of stripers. From the plane to the car to the ocean, each of our Convoy packs and bags performed exceptionally. Here’s how we used each of our bags on the trip:
Convoy Duffel: Our waterproof duffel was perfect for wading in saltwater, keeping all our gear inside dry while fishing. With deployable backpack straps, it transforms into a waterproof duffel backpack that is lightweight and extremely versatile.
Convoy Hauler: Our waterproof gear tote was used to transport gear on and off the skiff. It works as a great boat bag for rafts, drift boats, and skiffs alike. It's the ideal carry-all bag that can be waterproof when needed.
Convoy Packout Bag: This simple fishing pack served as both a trash collector on beach shores and a hip pack while fishing off the skiff. It provides easy access to all your flies, leader, and tippet in a compact waist pack, keeping things simple and streamlined.
Convoy Gear Roll: Our wader bag was used for gearing up before heading out to fish from the shore. It can hang off the side of the car, making everything easily accessible, and the removable changing mat is a huge bonus for getting in and out of waders.
Convoy Travel Pack: Our fly fishing backpack carried everything from rods and reels to clothes and toiletries for the trip. Minimizing baggage is always a good thing when traveling, and having a piece of fly fishing travel gear that carries all the essentials is crucial for trips like these.
We caught some incredible fish in Maine, and it’s all captured in this film, Salt Spray. Check out the video to experience the full adventure!
