The ShortCut River Quiver comes with a set of Rod Chairs to keep your rigged rod secure and organized while broken down in half in the unit. The Rod Chairs are simple to take on and off your rod, leaving you ready to fish in no time.

You do need a roof rack with 2 crossbars to attach the River Quiver to your vehicle. If you own a pickup truck, cross bars are not required. Check our Truck Bed ShortCut solution here.

The short answer is yes, but it all depends on the cross-bar system you have on your vehicle. We have three different mounting options that will accommodate all different roof rack styles and your specific needs. To read more about these mounting options, please click here.

You can most definitely keep the ShortCut River Quiver on year-round. We designed it to ensure you can have your rod rigged at the ready no matter the time of year you are fishing.

The ShortCut River Quiver can accommodate spey/switch rods with a minor tweak to how the reel sits on the rod. Simply connect the reel on the back butt section with either a reel cover or rubber band. When you arrive at your fishing destination all you need to from here is to re-attach reel into the reel seat and you are off fishing.

Keeps Rods/Reels safe and handy!

Just got my shortcut river quiver in black about a month ago. It fits perfectly on our truck and on our Alucab Khaya camper (this has a wedge pop up, so we had to have the shortie). It is easy to install and use. Love just pulling our rods out and quickly just putting the two halves together. Makes it easy to just stop off the road and drop in a line when we see a body of water we want to fish. This is also great when camping as it keeps our rods/reels safe so they are not crammed into our camper our getting banged around by other camping gear.

Amazing addition to our SUV

Recently got the new shortcut for our Honda CRV. I’ve been a riversmith customer for years and was really excited when riversmith came out with an option for smaller sized vehicles. It fits our suv amazing and I went with the quick release mounts for the convenience of being able to take it off and on for other rooftop accessories, like a cargo box or ski racks. The shorter size is makes it easy to store in our garage when it isn’t on the vehicle. I love how effortless it is to have rods rigged up and ready to go fish with just breaking them in half. I loved the rod chairs that keep the rods and line organized, so much that Ive been using them on my standard riverquivers to keep my rods from bouncing and rubbing while in tow.
