FAQs

The short answer is yes, but it all depends on the cross-bar system you have on your vehicle. We have three different mounting options that will accommodate all different roof rack styles and your specific needs. To read more about these mounting options, please click here.

Yes, the additional length of the Euro River Quiver does not take away from being able to have standard length rods in there as well. We understand people may have significantly different rod lengths with the Euro River Quiver so we made sure the additional length doesn't take away from using smaller length rods in the unit at the same time as euro rods.

You can most definitely keep the River Quiver on year-round. We designed it to ensure you can have your rod rigged at the ready no matter the time of year you are fishing.

The River Quiver can accommodate spey/switch rods with a minor tweak to how the reel sits on the rod. Simply connect the reel on the back butt section with either a reel cover or rubber band. When you arrive at your fishing destination all you need to from here is to re-attach reel into the reel seat and you are off fishing.

Yes, most SUV's with a hatch require the River Quiver to be mounted with both brackets on rear half of the coupler. This is okay and does not affect the functionality of the unit.

Extended Mounting Bolts are used to fit larger than normal roof rack bars. If the height of crossbars is over 1 3/8” it will require extended bolts.  These bolts are an extended version of the standard mounting bolts that attach the River Quiver mounting bracket to your roof rack. They are 1'' longer in case you have installed a Spacer Kit with your River Quiver fly rod holder or have larger than normal crossbars. We also have the high-security version of the Locking Extended Mount Bolts.

Solid Rod Protection

I forgot it was on the roof during a 6 hour roadtrip. The quick release attachment remained snug with no issues. I was off roading during a fishing trip and everything performed perfectly. I’m happy with the purchase and Riversmith has great customer service. If you’re going to make the purchase, get the shipping insurance, it paid off for me.

New lock is not for me

I don't like the new lock. It would be nice if there was an option. I fish with a buddy or two almost every time I go out, so the ability to open the quiver when I am not at the truck is useful. Some of my buddies give up early and head back to the truck (quitters!!!) they like to stow their rods safely while they take off their waders and crack open a beverage or two or ten. I understand the principle about the auto lock, but it takes away the option from the user to leave it unlocked if desired. The other option that would be nice is to include the longer bolts with the $1000 purchase. My cross bars are a pretty standard size however they were still too large for the bolts that came with the quiver. Paying $50 for bolts that are 2 x $2 is a little steep for me. Hex cap M5 65mm worked great for me. I got the black bolts so it matched my black vault.

Toughest rod holders on the market

Recently my best friend and guide friend wrecked and his river quivers possibly saved his life after flipping end over end and landing on his top they were still attached with 8 rods fully protected one of which was mine just so happened I had just purchased two four bangers replacing my old two bangers great product I actually installed them in 30 minutes with the new quick release mounts couldn’t ask for anything more

I have studied many different rod carriers and have decided on the RiverSmith, 4 banger , Euro, River Quiver. I have not yet mounted it to the Leer Topper on my RAM 1500. After it is mounted. I will take a picture to accompany my review. Out of the box, the carrier and the requested options look fantastic. I am so excited to have it mounted and start using it here in Montana.
